User groups are needed

I am here from Devon, UK, I keep hearing that LUGs are no longer needed, because GNU/Linux systems are easier to install and use.

On the contrary, I am on the Matrix mint support channel and there are people asking for install help, assistants with issues during install.

So we are, at least appear to be needed more than ever. To keep advocating for Linux, Free software and help and support new users as they move over to a different way of using their computers or just learn new skills as part of their on going career or personal development.

It is great that groups like this are still active.

Greetings Paul! We (VanLUG) have quite an active group, and we manage in person events monthly. Recently, we have reached more than 2,300 members, and still continue to climb. There are also active groups in other Canadian cities!

We agree with your point of view … plus the benefits of saving old computers from landfill.
